Inclusion fuels innovation. That's why RELX is committed to fostering a workplace where all employees are respected, valued, and have equal opportunities. A key part of our inclusion and diversity (I&D) strategy is supporting people of all sexual orientations and gender identities to be themselves at work. Our business areas and people are doing great work to build a culture of inclusion, safety and respect through our Pride, PROUD, sexual orientation and gender identity Employee Resource Groups and events like PROUD Experiences.

Join us in celebrating Pride as we shine a spotlight on the unique perspectives of our LGBTQIA+ colleagues and allies worldwide. This year's theme, "Reflect. Empower. Unite.," inspires us to reflect on our progress, empower our community, and unite in our commitment to inclusion. By sharing our colleagues' stories, we aim to foster understanding and continuous improvement across RELX.

For me, Pride is a great time to ensure that LGBTQ+ identities are at the forefront. That visibility carries through the rest of the year, because it's empowering for now and for the future. It also enables people to accept themselves for who they are and to have that acceptance supported by our workplace culture.

When I start a new job I am always determined to come out as soon as possible so that, for others, it is part of my identity right from the start. I did just that when I joined in July 2017. I am able and, indeed, encouraged to contribute to our explorations of diversity, equity and inclusion. My experience is clearly valued. I feel like I belong and that I am lucky to work in such a wonderful team.

I gave a talk to the Proud ERG about a discovery I made about my great uncle's identity last year. After my grandmother died I found a series of photos that told the story of his life with a man with whom he was clearly in love. I know that something did not work out and that he died a lonely man. Telling that story and feeling the love and support of the group as we talked about it was an incredible experience and I think telling such stories can strengthen us and generate a deep and genuine empathy.

Having been arrested and forced out of the Royal Navy in 1993 because of my sexuality, being part of an inclusive workplace culture like RELX and RX's is amazing. I was a part of changing the UK law in 2000 to allow gay people to serve in the military so Pride, as a protest and a celebration, is incredibly important to keep that progress alive. 25 years after I was thrown out, I walked in London Pride with RELX - a hugely significant moment for me. Having suffered that institutional bullying and exclusion, marching in celebration with my colleagues was very healing.

RX has given me many opportunities to be an internal role model for the LGBTQIA+ community, from involvement in Pride panel discussions to having the RELX Cares time to support my work with the charity Diversity Role Models, whose mission is to end LGBTQIA+ bullying in schools. However, the most incredible example is that RX nominated me for a British Diversity Award as Hero of the Year which I was proud and humbled to win.

RX champions people who represent all kinds of diversity and these people are visible at all levels of the business. That visibility is so important to show that success is possible whatever part of humanity you belong to - you can't be what you can't see.

Pride Month allows people from marginalized groups to shine and display true love to others in the community and our allies. I am glad to work for a company that supports us and allows us to be involved in the decisions that impact us. Every day, month, and year, the struggle for equality continues, but I believe that one day people will truly see us for who we are: kind, loving human beings.

As co-chair of the Proud ERG, I feel empowered to provide communication to our colleagues and to encourage others to get involved. This role has allowed me to be a change agent and to speak on behalf of our company, showcasing the support we receive both within and outside the organization. Our senior leadership team is actively involved on the front lines to ensure that everyone feels a sense of belonging. Their visible commitment and proactive engagement make a significant difference in creating an inclusive environment for all.

Pride month is a time to honor the progress made toward equality and is also the time for workplaces to affirm their commitment to diversity and inclusion. I will forever be an ally to raise awareness about LGBTQIA+ issues and advocate positive change within the organization and beyond.

Being empowered means standing tall in advocating for equality, visibility and acceptance against discrimination. It also means supporting and uplifting others in the community through education and warm presence. The Philippines team is very big in terms of Diversity & Inclusion. We always embrace unity which can be built through education, inclusive policies, open dialogue and activities about LGBTQ+. When everyone feels valued and respected, it enhances teamwork, increases productivity and employee satisfaction.

In India, Pride month is celebrated in various cities, aligning with the Stonewall riots. The celebration of Pride month across India serves two purposes - recognizing the progress made in LGBTQ+ rights and protesting against the ongoing discrimination and challenges faced by the community. From fighting against Section 377 to advocating for marriage recognition and creating inclusive workplaces and public spaces, there is still much progress to be made.

As an ally at Elsevier India, I take great pride in the establishment of the Pride Chennai Chapter, the first PRIDE Employee Resource Group (ERG) in India. I would like to express my gratitude towards my colleagues for their invaluable contributions. The India Inclusion & Diversity team has now formed the PRIDE India team and are working in multiple locations like Chennai, Bangalore, etc. to bring all people together and build a truly inclusive and safe space for all employees. Workplace Pride recently announced the ‘Declaration of India’ to ensure progress is made on LGBTIQ+ inclusion in workplaces across India and Elsevier Pride has signed the declaration. We are looking forward to an exciting year in India.

The sad reality is that we don't have to look back at history as our community is currently experiencing real struggles in every country around the world. I am filled with both sadness and hope, because what do we have if not hope and this is what Pride holds for me.

I am a non-binary transmasculine human and I am so grateful for the amazing people I work with who are showing active allyship by holding others accountable by correcting any mistakes with my pronouns. Many people had known me under a different name, pronouns and expression and all these people have treated me no differently. This means I can breathe easily knowing others have my back and I can feel safe. It's a beautiful family and that's community, accepting people for who they are.

Pride Month not only represents the ability to openly express my non-Western traditional non-binary gender with some legal protection, but also provides representation for Indigenous people who discover they are outside the gender binary. Having legal protections to share what is and was part of my Indigenous culture with the world is very important, as discrimination and marginalization based on gender is still very prevalent globally.

Showing up authentically in the workplace allows LGBTQ+ employees to focus on work instead of devoting exhausting levels of mental and emotional energy on hiding details about who we are. As we create products that humanity uses to seek justice in their corner of the world, our products and their creation should reflect the diversity of the customers we serve. Representation really helps combat unconscious bias in the workplace, and that effect ripples into society.

Pride Month means a lot to me and to our workplace. It's a time to celebrate the progress and achievements of the LGBTQ+ community and to honor those who fought for equality. For me, it’s a reminder of the importance of acceptance and being true to who you are. At work, it helps build a culture of inclusion and respect, showing our commitment to diversity and creating a supportive environment for everyone.

As an LGBTQ+ employee at RELX, I feel empowered by the support and inclusivity in our workplace. Through webinars, we share our stories and experiences, which helps us feel a sense of belonging. This makes us more comfortable and confident at work, allowing us to bring our best selves to our jobs and drive progress and innovation.

Sr. Product Manager, Risk and Compliance, Risk - US

As a gay man and a Product Manager at LexisNexis Risk Solutions, Pride Month holds profound personal significance for me. It's a time to celebrate the progress we've made in LGBTQ+ rights while acknowledging the ongoing struggles and challenges faced by our community. Within our workplace culture, Pride Month serves as a reminder of the importance of diversity, inclusion, and equality, fostering an environment where all employees feel respected, supported, and empowered to bring their authentic selves to work every day.

I feel empowered by the company's commitment to diversity and inclusion. One example of this empowerment is the establishment of LGBTQ+ employee resource groups and allyship programs, which provide a platform for networking, support, and advocacy. Personally, I've seen how these initiatives have positively impacted colleagues by creating a sense of belonging, fostering open dialogue, and driving tangible progress in workplace policies and culture toward greater acceptance and equality.

Allison Honkofsky

Sales Director, Exhibitions - US

Being new to the corporate world, I was anxious about the ability to be my authentic self in this new work environment. The relief I had feeling the inclusivity of RX has made all the difference. Honoring Pride Month is just one piece of keeping acceptance at the forefront of everything we do - both in our personal life and workplace.

I have only been with the company for one short year. However, in my brief time I have experienced a tremendous sense of unity and inclusion. A fantastic example is how my team, supervisors, and extended RX family have been eager and excited to meet my partner, learn about my children and genuinely show interest in my life outside of work. What a gift to feel included and cared for, even with a non-typical family dynamic.

Kelly Keegan

The fight for equality is ongoing, celebrating our diverse identities and histories is only a part of the picture. In our workplace, Pride Month fosters an inclusive culture, encouraging everyone to bring their authentic selves to work, which strengthens our team and drives innovation alongside acceptance. I feel psychologically safe to admit I am bisexual and that I'm neurodivergent. I have mentoring and believe I will get ahead in the company, as I don't leave parts of myself at the door to fit in.

As the D&I Champion for the Cardiff Office, I ran an in-person event about LGBTQ+ identities and allyship last year, and not only was it well attended and received, but my panel of speakers from within the business were exemplary. Each speaker was candid and we had a lot of thoughtful questions that drove a progressive conversation about what inclusion means and how there isn't a one size fits all approach, it's a constant negotiation.

Pride is about celebrating diverse backgrounds and recognizing that all love is simply love. As a newer employee to RELX, I am grateful that RELX creates an inclusive workplace where all of us are appreciated and celebrated.

I've worked in small law firms for my entire professional career and been on boards for service and pride organizations where I see large corporations have impactful support on my communities. In smaller workplace environments, I have always felt like the teacher when it comes to anything related to LGBTQ+ education. When deciding whether or not to work for RELX, it was important for me to know that the company had an ERG and celebrated diversity and inclusion. I feel very welcomed and inspired here!
